I’m Jon Cairns, I’m gay comics creator who drew Wilfrith and the Golem Stonemason for Filthy Figments. I love to draw hunks and body hair.
How long have you been creating comics?
I’ve been writing and drawing comics for about 15 years now, starting with a webcomic and segueing into erotica.
What do you enjoy drawing most?
Lately I’ve been drawing a lot of Fantasy monster fucker work—it gives me lots of opportunities to lean in to the body hair and some scarier gay themes.
What are some of your biggest inspirations in your work?
Some of my biggest inspirations are the hirsute bara hunk masters Jiraiya and Gengoroh Tagame, as well as powerhouse creators CLAMP.
What do you like about erotica and/or drawing erotic comics?
I find drawing erotica really fascinating because it’s such fertile and new territory—there’s so much new storytelling you can invent. It feels very fresh and new constantly, which is fun!
What was your favorite project you’ve worked on for Filthy Figments thus far?
I loved drawing Wilfrith and the Golem Stonemason because it gave me a lot of opportunities to try new production methods and introduce new characters.
Recommend a few of your favorite Filthy Figments comics from the archive. Tells us WHY you love them.
I really love Chevy Cruise by Ben Mehlos for its inventive use of darks and lights, and its silly, sexy humor.
